Bangladesh capital markets have a number of stakeholders in the USA as both countries have a sound history of business and investment. This roadshow aims to enhance the understanding and accessibility to the business and investment in Bangladesh by discussing the errands with the stakeholders. The stakeholders meeting will help the investors to understand the business and investment scenario of Bangladesh and will also help the policymakers of Bangladesh to identify and comprehend the necessary steps and formulation ahead to inspire and attract investment. The meeting will be attended by high- level delegates from Bangladesh and the stakeholders from USA, along with business conglomerates and investors. The Bangladesh delegation to exchange views with the stakeholders regarding the potentials and opportunities of investing in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission organized a ‘Stakeholders Meeting’ at The Ritz-Carlton hotel at Washington DC, the capital city of USA. It was the 2nd visiting city of the ongoing roadshow on Bangladesh Economy and Capital Markets titled ‘The Rise of Bengal Tiger: Potentials of Trade & Investment in Bangladesh’ in the USA. BSEC organized the meeting to showcase Bangladesh Capital markets and Trade & Investment opportunities where prominent stakeholders of Bangladesh residing in the USA participated.

Bangladeshi high-level delegation team discussed and exchanged opinions with the stakeholders across USA and joined in a very spontaneous discussion. They showcased the robust economic growth and investment potential of Bangladesh and opportunities for the stakeholders. The stakeholders also participated in discussions and delivered speeches that comprised of gratitude, possibilities and suggestions regarding increased trade and investment relations with Bangladesh.

A senior team of BSEC led by its Chairman Professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam and representatives from the concerned ministries and regulatory authorities and dignitaries including the Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the HPM, Senior Secretary of Finance Division, Secretary of Ministry of Commerce, Secretary of Economic Resources Division, Executive Chairman of BIDA and Executive Chairman of BEPZA also joined the meeting, along with the esteemed stakeholders across USA. A prominent stakeholder company Dawn Global Management’s Founder & CIO Mr. Maurits Pot joined online with his presentation.

The roadshow is organized by BSEC with courtesy from Eastern Bank Ltd, Nagad Ltd. and Walton Bangladesh, while the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) has closely worked with BSEC to make it successful. Los Angeles is the 3rd visiting city that will be followed by Silicon Valley, Santa Clara.
